Jeanette’s Story

I was born and raised in South Dakota until I moved to California in 2007. After my University of California, Riverside days I made the decision to go to nursing school. Since graduating in 2021 with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, I have been working as an Emergency Department nurse.

Mando’s Story

I was born in Anaheim and raised Norco, from beaches to horses trails. After highschool I got my EMT certificate and worked on the ambulance in Riverside county. After a while I made a career change from the ambulance to the ER where I met Jeanette. I am currently in nursing school where I will get my Bachelors of Science in Nursing.

Our story started out while working in the same hospital. We worked opposite shifts and would only see each other in passing but always greeted each other with hugs and smiles. One day Mando said, “Hey! Let’s hang out sometime.” as he was leaving and I said, “Sure!” after asking him if he had a Disney pass. Both excited to be able to go to Disneyland we made plan to hang out there.

A night at Disneyland was as magical as you could imagine and from then on our conversations continued outside hospital walls. When Mando finally asked me out for a real first date at Luchador Brewery I couldn’t have been more excited. Our relationship continued to grow and blossom from then on.

Our proposal happened on the same day as Mando’s birthday. Funny enough, that day we had planned for our families to meet for the first time ever and I was a NERVOUS WRECK. I didn’t realize that Mando was kneeling on the courtyard in front of Mickey’s ferris wheel as I was trying to take a selfie of us. In a “classic jeanette” fashion, of course I didn’t realize how long I was having him kneel as I asked him questions about getting married. Laughing at me he gently urged me to answer and there was never a doubt that the answer was going to be, “Yes!”.

Getting to spend the rest of our lives together is an absolute fairytale come true. I’m just a girl who as finally found her happily ever after :)
